Freshman students often have many questions about their studies and life in the dormitory. To support them in navigating these new experiences, Teacher Anna organized a special activity during dinnertime, creating a relaxed atmosphere. She provided a Subway Party Combo for six people to make the gathering enjoyable.
We began the event by discussing life in the dormitory. This conversation helped some students recognize the benefits of dormitory life they had previously overlooked and offered insights on how to transform perceived disadvantages into strengths.
Second, we talked about challenging courses and brainstormed strategies to tackle them. Next, we addressed the English language requirements for studying abroad and the difficulties students face when studying in English. Professor Anna shared her own experiences from her second year of high school in the U.S., highlighting how she overcame challenges with the language. Since all the participating students were enrolled in Prof. Anna’s Globalization Course, they also had questions about the upcoming midterm exam. Besides, the meeting helped students to get more familiar with each other.
