I propose to conduct a 2 hour interactive session titled "Focus & Flow: Using Yoga and Meditation to Boost Study Power." This activity will combine theory, practical experience, and reflection to help learners understand and apply the benefits of yoga and meditation in their academic lives. The session will begin with a welcome and icebreaker (10 minutes) to introduce the topic and encourage students to reflect on how they feel before and after studying. This will be followed
by a 15-minute discussion highlighting the mental and physical benefits of yoga and meditation, supported by visuals and an optional short video. Students will then participate in a 25-minute guided yoga practice designed to relieve tension,
improve focus, and build energy through simple, accessible poses. This will transition into a 15-minute guided meditation, including breath awareness and visualization exercises to enhance concentration and reduce stress. In the second half of the session, students will engage in a 20-minute group activity where they
will design their own "study-reset" routines combining a yoga stretch, a mindfulness technique, and a motivational mantra. Each group will share their routine with peers, reinforcing collaborative learning and practical application.
The session will conclude with a 10-minute wrap-up, during which students will reflect on their experience and commit to trying at least one practice during their study routine in the coming week. Materials such as yoga mats, a projector, and optional calming music will support the experience. I will also provide a digital handout summarizing benefits, short routines, and links to guided practices for continued use. This activity will aim to foster focus, reduce stress, and empower students with lifelong tools for learning and well-being.
